I'm in agreement with the previous critque.
I would also add that the colour in this piece is effective, on first appearance the photo looks black and white but the as I turn my attention to the lantern that looks more sepia, It is an incredibly effective piece, Was it a planned photo or off the cuff?
Either way I love the cobbles down the side of the pathway, that is balanced by the old Victorian style lantern.
It gives me the impression of some one coming out of the dark and into the light, as if you are showing hope for new beginnings.
which is something I like to see.
The lighting in this is superb, because the shadow is central to the shot, that either took great thought or was a very lucky break, dependent on how the photo was achieved.
I also like how the light bounces off the side of the buildings too as it lends a little emphasis to the surroundings.
I love this piece and think it would be well place in a gallery someday.
